About Me

I am a qualified Group Analyst, Art Psychotherapist and Psychotherapist. I am registered with

UKCP, Health and Care Professions Council and the British Association of Art Therapy.

I have over 30 years of experience as a psychotherapist in Social Services and in the NHS.

I have been working with groups and individuals in the sphere of mental health since

completing a Community Art/Fine Art Honours degree at Leeds University in 1982. I initially

trained as an Art Psychotherapist at Goldsmith's College, University of London in 1987. I then

undertook a two year diploma in psychotherapy at the Uffculme Clinic in Birmingham before

returning to Goldsmith's College to complete an M.A. in Art Psychotherapy in 2000. I

completed a group analytic training and latterly a group analytic diploma in supervision

which qualifies me as a supervisor with UKCP.

I have continued to work as a psychotherapist in the NHS during this time working with a

range of interpersonal difficulties both individually, in groups and providing supervision of

other professional colleagues.

I worked for many years as part of an Eating Disorders Service and as part of a Psychological Therapies Team working with complex trauma. I am particularly used to working with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, neglect, abuse, bereavement, addictions, anger and personality struggles. I was the Manager / Senior Clinician of a Personality Disorder Unit for over a decade until my recent departure so that I could devote myself fully to my private practice.

Through the experience of working with people combined with undertaking continued rigorous trainings my understanding of human difficulties, conflict and suffering has developed to a sophisticated level.

I have professional Indemnity & Public Liability Insurance for all my work as a psychotherapist and supervisor.
